Express Entry

Plan your Express Entry application from profile creation to submission with practical guidance and document support.

About Express Entry

Express Entry is Canada’s electronic application management system for three federal economic immigration programs: the Canadian Experience Class, Federal Skilled Worker Program, and Federal Skilled Trades Program. To enter the Express Entry pool, applicants must first meet the requirements of at least one of these programs.

Creating an Express Entry profile is only one part of the process. A successful strategy requires accurate assessment of program eligibility, work experience, language results, education, National Occupational Classification (NOC) codes, and Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) factors.

Candidates may enter the system from very different starting points. Some rely primarily on foreign work experience, while others qualify through Canadian work experience. Certain candidates may also benefit from category-based selection or a provincial nomination.

Immigration Vector assists applicants in assessing eligibility, reviewing CRS factors, preparing accurate Express Entry profiles, organizing supporting documents, and completing permanent residence applications after an Invitation to Apply.

How We Work on Your Express Entry Application

We approach Express Entry as a permanent residence strategy rather than a simple online profile. Our review focuses on both eligibility for the system and the accuracy of the information that will later need to be supported with documentation.

Service advantages

01

Program Eligibility and NOC Assessment

We review your work experience, job duties, employment periods, language results, education, and other relevant factors to determine whether you may qualify under the Canadian Experience Class, Federal Skilled Worker Program, or Federal Skilled Trades Program. We also assess the appropriate NOC code and TEER category based on the actual duties performed rather than relying only on the job title.

02

CRS Score Assessment and Improvement Strategy

We calculate and review your Comprehensive Ranking System score based on applicable factors such as age, education, language proficiency, Canadian and foreign work experience, spouse or partner factors, and additional CRS points. Where realistic opportunities exist, we discuss ways to strengthen the profile, such as improving language results, completing additional education, or exploring provincial nomination opportunities.

03

Document and Credential Review

We review language test results, Educational Credential Assessments where required, civil status documents, employment records, and settlement funds where applicable. For work experience, we examine reference letters and supporting records to help ensure that job duties, dates, hours, and compensation are consistent with the information declared in the Express Entry profile.

04

Express Entry Profile Creation and Updates

We assist with preparing and submitting the Express Entry profile and reviewing personal, educational, and employment information before it is declared to IRCC. While the profile remains in the pool, changes such as new language results, additional work experience, marital status changes, or a provincial nomination may require the profile to be updated. We help assess how significant changes may affect eligibility or CRS ranking.

05

Post-ITA Permanent Residence Application

Once an Invitation to Apply is issued, the applicant generally has 60 days to submit the complete permanent residence application. We assist with preparing the application and organizing supporting evidence, which may include employment records, police certificates, medical examination requirements, proof of funds where applicable, civil documents, and letters of explanation for circumstances requiring additional clarification.

06

Category-Based Selection and Provincial Nomination

Express Entry invitations are not based only on one universal CRS cut-off. IRCC may hold general, program-specific, or category-based rounds of invitations throughout the year. In category-based rounds, candidates must first qualify for Express Entry and then meet the requirements of the selected category. A provincial nomination can also significantly change an Express Entry strategy. Candidates who receive and accept an Express Entry-aligned provincial nomination receive additional CRS points.

Additional service information

Managing Profile Changes and Individual Circumstances

Every Express Entry candidate has a different employment, educational, and immigration history. Multiple employers, periods of unemployment, changes in occupation, work completed under different immigration statuses, previous refusals, or changes in family circumstances can affect how information should be declared.

For candidates relying on foreign work experience, employment documents must support the occupation and duties being claimed. For applicants using Canadian work experience, it is important to confirm that the employment meets the requirements of the applicable Express Entry program.

Significant differences between the information declared in the Express Entry profile and the documents submitted after an Invitation to Apply may raise questions or require additional explanation.

We review these details before submission and help identify inconsistencies, missing evidence, or circumstances that should be clarified in advance.

Our goal is to help you understand your Express Entry eligibility, build an accurate and competitive profile, and prepare a well-supported permanent residence application when an Invitation to Apply is received.
